About the Author
Dr. Bhavna Wal has accumulated years of professional experience not only as a practicing journalist for 20 years but now as an academician too. Presently, she is working as an Assistant Professor at the Amity School of Communication, Amity University, Lucknow. During her 20 odd years as a journalist and reporter, Dr. Wal covered a plethora of beats and departments. She has written extensively on a variety of subjects like politics, human rights, lifestyle and entertainment, education, finance and business, environment and sustainable development among others. She has also interviewed personalities and published profiles. As a journalist, Dr. Wal has worked with leading national dailies and wires like Hindustan Times, Indian Express, Press Trust of India and Daily News & Analysis.
After joining academics, Dr. Wal has brought in her industry knowledge of journalism to help UG and PG students of mass media become future torch bearers of this noble profession of journalism. She has written more than 10 research papers which have been published in international and national publications. She is Associate Editor of her Department’s magazine and is closely associated with writing and creating reports for the department that the department brings out periodically. She is also editorial board member of journals which help her in shaping her academic profile. She is also associated with many non-profits and is also UP Head for one of them. She has been honored with Best Reporter Achievement Award during her tenure as bureau chief of Agra at Hindustan Times and her dedication and excellence in journalism has been recognized with the Global Achievement Award in 2020 by Rifacimento International, New Delhi.
